I'm still not sure what to call these vodka-cranberry-orange juice (on crushed ice) cocktails I've been enjoying so much lately. Today, instead of including lime juice too, I included a splash of ainse apertif (licorice flavor).
Excellent.

I call them a California Cape Cod. Yummy little devils.
I also like the White Russian with a twist, replace the milk with amaretto coffee creamer and a splash of coffee.

California Cape Cod, I'll have to remember that.
Tonight I noticed the bottle of Frangellico I put on the wine rack yesterday was dripping. So today I put it on the liquor carousel. So I had to test it in the california cape cod with anise mixture.
Even better.

Oooh! Yum!
I'll have to keep that one in mind.
I've tried a splash of Midori too, a little on the sweet side but it it an excellent liqueur..
Speaking of it, have you ever had a "June Bug"?
Here's the recipe:
1 oz Midori liqueur 3/4 oz Malibu coconut rum 1 oz sweet and sour mix 1 oz pineapple juice
Blend all ingredients and pour over ice.

I don't think I've ever had Midori. I don't think I'd like it though. I don't like the taste of mellon.

Do you like martini's?
How about an Espresso martini?
I prefer vodka martini's to gin. I get wicked headpain with gin.

I'm trying to like martinis, vodka martinis I should say. I don't know that I always like them straight up. I've only acquired a taste for green olives in the last 6 years. I know I'll never drink a "dirty martini" again. It has extra green olive vinegar/juice.
I've had a chocolatini, and appletini and a blue caraco martini. I'm not sure I've had espresso before.
I do have to be careful which vodka I use. Like you with gin, some vodkas give me migraines the next day. So far Svenka and Stoli are okay.
I generally stay away from gin. Its too piney for me. I have the same problem with rosemary.

Martini's, Cal Cape Cod's, Cape Cod's and Vodka pineapple orange juice are my favorite drinks.. Recurring theme huh? Here is the recipe for the Espresso. I am an avid coffee drinker so this is like sex on wheels for me! 1 oz cold espresso 1 1/2 oz good quality Vodka 1 1/2 oz Kahlua coffee liqueur 1 oz white creme de cacao liqueur Pour ingredients into shaker filled with ice, shake vigorously, and strain into chilled martini glass. It should be somewhat frothy.

Well, here is one that I made up awhile ago. I call it the Dark Goddess Martini because it is a lovely purple color and the blackberry liqueur that my mother makes is a deep purple color and VERY intense in flavor. This was pretty much an experiment with mixing whatever my mother had at the time into a shaker and making drinks with it. It came out pretty good.
2 shots cranberry vodka 1 shot blackberry Liqueur (my mother makes her own so I don't know of a good brand) 1 shot strawberry schnapps (although peach may also be lovely) pomegranate juice
Fill a shaker with ice and fill with ingredients, pomegranate juice should fill the rest. Shake and strain into martini glasses. I like to put frozen berries on a toothpick and plop that right in there. You could also do this by putting everything in the shaker, and then pouring equal amounts into tall glasses. Then all you need to do is add some sort of clear soda or fizzy water and ice and you have another fun cocktail!

E, I have everything but the creme de cacao. Maybe I can find some today.
Kali, that sounds delicious.

Kitchen sink margarita
I bought some margarita mix, got home and discovered: no tequila. So I put this together on the fly:
Ice 1.5 oz Bacardi select Margarita mix Splash of anise liquor Splash of kalua Splash of frangelico
I don't know what to call it but it's good.
