Let me warn you - this is literally a shameless plug. ;D I am writing it to support a project that Julie has taken on, and to bring up a topic.
Some time ago, Julie and I read Martha Beck's books Finding Your Own North Starand Steering By Starlight. I mentioned a lot of the stuff from Steering By Starlight in some posts in Good Morning at the Portal, I think.
As often happens in our lives, these books really helped us to rethink how we were living, the degree of consciousness we were bringing to our choices, etc. So we got more and more interested in the Martha Beck stuff. Time passed, and Julie decided to get trained and certified as a Martha Beck life coach and career consultant. She's in the training process now and it is totally amazing.
The work that she is doing is continuing to change how we deal with difficulty, limiting beliefs, and the prospect of big change in our life together. It's super cool.
She's had tons of energy around this -- got a website (you should check it out -- www.newleaflifedesign.com), met with an accountant and attorney, put a second line in the house for business calls, has created her office....it's amazing. And meanwhile, she still has a full-time job. It's awesome. Our hope is that she'll be able to transition to this as full-time work within several months. We'll see how it goes!
ANYWAY, as part of the training, she needs to work with a group of folks for free for six weeks. The sessions are an hour long, and are over the phone. She's already gotten some people, and she'd like to work with a few more. Understand that life coaching sessions can cost from 100 to 200 dollars a session ({and more in places like West Hollywood, but that's neither here nor there.). It doesn't matter where you live, as the sessions are over the phone.
If you're in a transition moment in your life - if you don't think you're doing what you'd most like to do for work, or you have a vague sense of dissatisfaction with your spiritual life as it relates to the rest of your life....you might want to check it out. And like I said, at this moment in the training period, Julie isn't charging anything, because it's part of her training.
