"Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events that are apparently causally unrelated occurring together in a meaningful manner. To count as synchronicity, the events should be unlikely to occur together by chance.
The concept does not question, or compete with, the notion of causality. Instead, it maintains that just as events may be grouped by cause, they may also be grouped by their meaning. Since meaning is a complex mental construction, subject to conscious and subconscious influence, not every correlation in the grouping of events by meaning needs to have an explanation in terms of cause and effect." - - Wikipedia
Have you had moments that could only be explained as synchronicity? Share!

You mean moments that could only be explained by synchronicity, or that I decided were so because I was too frikkin' lazy intellectually to figure out what really happened?
I mean this as an honest question and not a snark; I've wondered about some things for years.

Umm...both. I was kind of unsure about the use of 'only' but it went with the flow of the question so well....

OK...this last trip! I've pretty much fessed up that something commonly called upon showed up in my life recently, and yes, it is very obvious by now so maybe I shouldn't say it. (Gawdz but having these show up in your Heathen household is...embarrassing...)
But, that last trip. Those...beings dropped their names everywhere...now of course the world is teeming with Michaels and Samuels, so I at first didn't notice. But then along came a Gabriel and a Gabrielle...on the train...and another in the town...I met two Raphaels during the course of the trip, and I could swear I was at one point served drinks by a Uriel. Who the hell names their kid Uriel? If a Metatron had showed up, I'da been out of there like a bat outta Hell. Which brings up:
As I mentioned at the time, the snowstorm the first Friday canceled the train, meaning I had to wait for the next train, which was on Sunday. At that point they had not yet cleared the mountain gorge of the mess of snow, downed trees, and broken electrical equipment that doubtless infested it, so my company said I should stay up there until the next train again - Wednesday - I was starting to go a little nuts. There wasn't anything to do up there; the two bookstores available were a "Christian Family Bookstore" full of hostile people and a Barnes and Noble that mysteriously remained closed the whole time. (The only decent open store was, I kid you not, Michael's Crafts. They thought of everything.) I surfed the net and twiddled my thumbs and then Tuesday morning of course there was another storm predicted for that afternoon into Wednesday, and I had a strong urge, one of those you don't ignore, to just throw everything in the car, drive across the state in the oncoming snow, and eat the eighty-five bucks breaking the rental car contract would cost me. So I did it. You have to understand, I had not driven a long distance in quite some time and I found the idea of doing so in snow appalling, but I really felt I had no choice. It's part of the "Denethor isn't allowed to be afraid of anything any more" course I have been signed up for, which is another post.
Sooo....I get in to the DC area on Tuesday, turned in the car, and took the Metro home. I (or something) had chosen the one day that whole week that the buses and above ground subway trains actually ran to need them. I proceeded to come home and be stranded here, where I at least had books, videos, my own studies and oh yeah food - but if I had stayed out there I would not have gotten home until the following Friday, because all those trains had, yes, been canceled.
OK so on to the question concerning my intellectual laziness. (Uriel? Another martini?...oh well it was worth a shot). The thing is, sometimes I am ultra-skeptical concerning these matters and other times I want to question it but I can't. This is one of the latter times. My free will (barring Spinoza) and my freedom of thought seem to have gone out the window. It's a bit creepy but what should really creep me out is that I don't mind. More on that stuff another post, I guess.
(Edited to add: yes I saw Legion but that is not part of the synchronicity. I went to see that because I already had been made interested in them by various other events and thought I would find it entertaining.)

Well, not to make this anymore strange for you, but my listing of Gabriel and Uriel in another threads was done before I read this post. But then, we were talking about angels.

Heh don't think I didn't notice it. But also, you're right that those names would tend to turn up in such a discussion. If the examples had been Haniel and Cassiel it might have been a bit weirder. (Though if you mention those two at the same time I do, you must understand I will also suspect you of spying on me. )

Oh, I'd never make it obvious that I was spying on you.... I had a synchromatic (word?) moment a few weeks back. I was dealing with a personal theme about second chances and during this time I was watching a movie when one of the characters brought up second chances. For obvious reasons, it stood out. I wound up not watching the whole movie and moved on to another show, where again, second chances were brought up. Later that same night, we were looking online at job oppurtunities for Ben and we found one in Valhalla, NY next to Sleep Hollow, NY. Then I turned the tv on, the first movie was playing again with the whole second chances line, and right.after. Sleepy Hollow played. It was just too weird. It was like everything was falling in line.

Heh. I have family there. Like the bipedal shaved-ape kind, not the Woden kind.

*fears shannon's reprisal if I don't respond*
Well, I can't remember any occurrences recently, and I've already talked about this one... but *points to note above*
Awhile back I remember reading this drivel that someone posted about how the Morrighan is really a benevolent mother goddess, or some such, and how it was just the eebil patriarchy who changed her into the battle-loving awesome psychopomp bitch thing that she is... and I totally went off on a rant (to Darkk) about these muppets... but then I said, "Ok, ya know what - maybe I'm wrong. Maybe all the research and whatnot and my own experiences are wrong. So I'll leave it open and ask that, if I am wrong, may I be shown a sign."
And a few days later we were driving along, and I noticed three ravens were sort of following our car. And I thought "Oh shit. Are they mad 'cause I am wrong, or are they showing their support?" and I decided that if they, like, shit on our car or something I'd take that as a bad sign, but they didn't... they just sort of followed along until I took notice and (after above thought) said "Hello, ladies" and then they flew off, and I thought "Ok, I'll take that as a sign that they're still cool with me."
And then a few days after that the weekly theme on the radio station I listen to (every Wednesday they play 12 songs with a theme and you have to call-up and guess the theme), and the theme of the day was 'War' and I said to myself "Ok, that's settled, then."
I don't know if that's synchronicity or if it's "a sign", but I sort of take them as the same thing, sort of, so I'll say it counts.
