I have been reading up on Enochian magic. I find the material I have read interesting. The I understand it, one man was able to channel messages from high beings who called themselves angels. And this man worked with another man help him record all the communications with these angels.
I was wondering where would be a good place to research this topic more. What are your thoughts on this path?

First my thoughts: Enochian and Geotic magics are both very ceremonial. There is no "go with the flow", "whatever feels right", or any other variation thereof. It is very precise and specific, with, or so it goes, rather dire consequence for effing up. This, combined with my... discomfort... in working with hierarchies of beings I don't quite believe in... has made them systems I've never been personally interested in, beyond a rather cursory understanding. (Similarly, I have never studied the tarot, astrology, or the Q'ballah, or other mathematical and/or mechanical systems beyond the cursory, as I am very much a creature of 'low magic', we'll say... ) The men in question are John Dee and Edward Kelly - names one often hears in almost any magical treatise. For a look at magical history, including, but not limited to these, I suggest 'A History of Magic and the Occult' by Kurt Seligman. Rather dry reading, but very informative. A quick google search turned up these sites, which seem to have some good information - but which I can't vouch for beyond that: Enochian Magic page on Chaos MatrixEnochian Page on a Golden Dawn siteUltimately, if one were truly interested in following the path and studying it in depth, I would suggest finding a local branch of the Golden Dawn. Likewise, for Geotia, I would suggest looking into Thelema, or reading up on some of Uncle Al's works. Mayhaps Den or one of the other ceremonial types can be of more assistance... :>

Heheh Edward Kelly was a notorious con man! (Probably strung John Dee along for a bit there...) Crowley (Uncle Al) was a notorious pree-vert! Just some facts one ought to know about those guys...
That said, a lot of people since then have found meaning and depth in the systems brought forth by these men, and have added to and developed them.
The best way to learn magic of this sort is from a group that practices it, but given the difficulty in finding a reputable group of this sort it is understandable that people turn to books.
For a general introduction to the practice that is intended for an individual practitioner, you could do worse than Modern Magic by Don Michael Kraig (I confess I don't remember whether the title uses Crowley's "k" in "Magic" or not). It is from that notorious publisher, Llewellyn, but from before they got too bad. Most of it is based on the Golden Dawn system, but Kraig adds a few other things. However, he doesn't have space in that book to explain the background of everything he shares, so it's kind of the shallow how-to type book. And there isn't too much of the Enochian system specifically, more just general ceremonial stuff.

Thanks for the replies. Every so often I will read and research different belief systems. I find this path very interesting and complex. I don't know anyone personally who follows or is experienced with this path.
