We have had some really nice weather this weekend. Bf and I are going to his mom's later to have a cookout with her and his aunt. Should be fun. Then I have to work this evening but only for 4 hours.

Its either been raining or threatening to rain all weekend here. But its been nice.
Well my two days of working in the yard turned into half a day of working in the yard, a day or running errands and half a day of pre-clearing of the garage. So far my two days of clearing the garage have turned into two half days of clearing the garage. I would have gotten it done today but the landfill is closed on Sundays. But its not closed every holiday, so I'll be starting up again at 7am tomorrow and taking a much needed break for the rest of the day.
When I've been taking breaks, I've been watching A to 8 80s music on VH! Classic. I'm starting to think the 80s were as horrible a fashion decade as the 70s. The video for Eye of the Tiger, freaking funny.
And D, once I get that garage clear, I'll be able to access my tools for carving that rune set.
I haven't forgotten.

That's great, bear! - but don't rush on my account. I'll be aware of that coming down the pike soon though. Rush because you want to avoid the mental damage occasioned by the Eye of the Tiger video. Otherwise, don't rush. Hope everyone who's doing grilling/cookouts has a great time! Eat some extra red meat for me, I'm not going to one. Just got back from Lodge and am having the weird experience of being both creeped out and touched. Here's how. I got there a bit early, and there weren't too many people in the building. We had a Degree Initiation today, and I had a somewhat demanding part, so I needed to chill. I headed into my cool, dark sanctuary in the Library for a little reading before the action got started. I opened the door and walked into the room and there were... ... Realtors! (ok, no points in this case for guessing. I know you all did). Specifically though, these were two of our Realtor members who each had known me for eight or ten years. A man and a woman. The woman greets me with, "We know what's going on. And we're going to put a stop to it." Understand, I don't talk about this issue at Lodge in the way I do online. I don't act afraid of them or anything, and I don't go making light of the fact that so many people hate that profession, not around my friends. But - the woman demanded a Great Big Hug (not a usual thing for me anyway, but then again I hadn't been to Lodge in a month) and they both later insisted I sit near them during the regular weekly ritual. "So you remember that we aren't going to hurt you." I have to admit I appreciate the mixture of humor and concern that went into this interaction, though I am a bit nonplussed as to how they knew. Not. To... you folks who know who you are... if you are reading this, and there is a good chance you are, why not go ahead and sign up? After all I owe you guys a favor. I promise I won't use the logged IP addy in any inappropriate manner, if you promise not to show up at midnight and force me to buy a house. Edited to add: though if that infernal racket from the "autistic" (yeah right) spoiled brat next door doesn't let up, you might not have to twist my arm that hard.

How awesome D! Can we have a WELCOME LODGE REALTOR'S!? That is too neat. Bear, It is good to hear you are getting some things pulled together on the home front, how does it feel? Hy, you'll have to tell us how the family festivities went. Q, How are you faring? Is the humidity rising there? BR, Anything new with your mountain lions you are breeding? There isn't much new here. We are still in some odd state of limbo with our home sale. Supposedly the loan agent is now attempting to "rapid rescore" the buyer's credit report so that the payment on their house shows up. For those of you counting that means we have officially been in "escrow" for 5 months. I just want it to close smoothly. It would be nice if it would be SOON!

Word on the street is that there is - what do you call it? Magic? Esoteric technique? - that can help with this. I can't believe I find myself giving any advice in that area. Either of those areas! Maybe forget I said anything? LOL

This weekend wasn't bad. We didn't do anything for the holiday. I was planning on going to my 'aunt's and uncle's' for a BBQ, which they've held every Memorial Day for as long as I can remember, but it got cancelled this year - which kinda sucks, 'cause I was looking forward to seeing my 'cousin'. Anyway, other than that it was pretty much a normal weekend, though extended by a day. We did some lounging, some vegging, and we got some more house stuff done. We finished the cabinet thing we built last weekend, we cut a larger hold in a piece of panelling for downstairs to make room for the larger electric box bro-in-law put in (that's been sitting around since January or so, so it's nice to finally have that done), and we got an extraneous cabinet which is leftover from the lady we got the house from out of the kitchen and into the garage - and it opens up the kitchen so much. (It's a small space, so having that there was not fun, but we've been using it to store tools and such - but since we're mostly done with the tools, we were able to finally get some stuff stowed out in the garage...) Still have to finish unpacking, and don't even get me started on the bathroom... Other than that, not much to report. Nothing new on the kitties, E - tho it would be interesting to try a breeding program with three males The twins are still relatively small, though Padfoot is getting bigger. I wonder when they'll stop growing. The Panther Lord is same as ever. Oh - we did make some nice BBQ chicken last night on the grill. The inside grill. We don't have a proper outside grill, yet. Got the recipe from my mom - and Darkk made it, and we had some corn-on-the-cob, and that was yummy... We really do need to start cooking more. Now that we have some more space and, hopefully, we might actually get the counter in place this week, we'll be able to soon enough. *crosses fingers that bro-in-law pulls through with the counter this time*

We has a counter! It was supposed to be today, so I was a mildly annoyed with BiL changed plans on me last night as I scrambled to clear the temporary counter of dirty dishes and various whatnots... but it's done, and the sink and disposal are all hooked up! Still waiting on the dishwaser, though, but it's nice to finally have the disposal hooked up...

YAY! Br!!
Well not much new here.. Got the tentative proposed list of "free" days off for the next two year. They all revolve around holidays, extending those weekends by a day. So we get an unpaid day off each month, except in June and November for the next two years, starting in July. Haven't seen the health care premium stuff yet, or the wellness program that will be implemented to gain some of that money back. oh well, the joys of working for the government in an economy like this.. At least I still have a job and benefits, even if I do have to pay for some of my insurance. Just means some fancy budgeting on my part.
Other than that, things are good.. Need to call Mom today to see how her latest appointment went.. She apparently saw the Oncologist yesterday. Dad was hoping he would have more to say about the tumors and them being genetic and all. I'll keep everyone updated as I hear things.
Sounds as if everyone is doing reasonably well here, glad to hear it!

I had a post to here Monday night but my pirated wifi signal was turned off.
The garage isn't completely done yet. I still have a queen sized bed frame to get rid of and a 3' diameter (small apartment sized) dinner table. I hauled another table and chairs to my brother-in-law's new apartment. I hauled a really beat-up but solid oak dresser, a trashed rocking chair, my old Jeep custom bumpers which I couldn't resell, some beat-up landscape fencing, and a broken Little Bear toy to the landfill.
By myself I might add.
I nearly gave myself a hernia with the dresser. And then I hurt my right wrist taking a desk down into our basement with Mrs. Bear.
But I can now fit my car into the garage! 2-years I haven't been able to say that. Its so odd not seeing a car parked on the side or behind the house anymore.
By the way, I am creeping up on a 60mpg average mileage with the Prius.
The fence .... still not completed. The garage took more effort than I expected. I'm planning on hanging the gate and the last piece of fence on Friday. I'm not sure when I'll do the painting.
In other good news: I will be able to get Little Bear into my work's daycare in June. I'm not exactly sure which day yet, but I'm hoping for the 15th because I still have a couple Fridays to work and it won't be open.
But rumor has it that our mandatory 4 x tens maybe going away. Its only a rumor but I'm giving it even-money on being gone in July. If it does go away, either I will switch to 4 x tens with Mondays off or 9 x nines with every other Monday off.
My Aunt E's condo will go up For Sale in June. So it will be my turn to complain about Realtor World. We should only be having one or two more beneficiary meetings before everything else is completely settled.
Well, its time for Little Bear to have a bath.
Good night all.

Well, today was a rough day. Mrs. Bear's Scion was hit from behind today by another car. It pushed her car into the car in front of her.
Mrs. Bear is okay. A little shaken and bruised. But I'm I think the Scion has a 50-50 chance of being totaled by the insurance company.

Guys, quit putting sh*t up for sale or buying it and giving the Bad Guys money. (uh-oh I'm gonna pay for that remark...) On the other hand, maybe it'll help The Economy. Or maybe not... Working from home again tomorrow, may be around.

eeeps, I'm glad that Mrs. Bear is okay, but sorry to hear about the car, Bear.
Not much going on here, except I was up WAY early today.... early enough that my dishes are in the dishwasher and my sheets are in the washer..... all around 6:45 AM!! uggghhh..
well I'm alone for the weekend, my husband is up at the museum giving a tour to field trip for a local school district, then tomorrow is a "work day" starting to get things ready for the museum season. I'm hoping to get some housework done this weekend, since it will be cloudy and icky all weekend.
Hope all is well with everyone else.

Thanks MsAriel. And thanks E (we chatted a bit last night). I hope you saved the mouse from V.
Mrs. Bear is doing much better today. Her neck and back don't hurt so much but everything else is a little achey. She did manage a workout this morning and felt okay through it.
I'm heading out in a couple minutes to pick up the rental car. I won't find out if the Scion xB is totaled until late Monday or Tuesday.
I also found out that my understanding of the gap insurance was wrong. They will pay out the difference between the loan and the value of the car. So the value of it as a used car is about $16.5k. We still owe about $19k. So the gap insurance will pay the $2,500 difference, but it will take about a month to get it.

Oh Bear, that's horrible! What in the hell are you paying extra on your payment for every month if they can not replace the vehicle? Damn. I'm glad Mrs is feeling okay. I was worried about delayed effects. Good news about Little Bear too. Ms A, Museum season? Ooooh tell me more? Specific exhibits, cultural, continental, time periods? BR, How are the counter tops? Do you feel human again? Den, I feel that I should put in a formal request with the Lodge Realtors. Something along the lines of "HELLLOOOOOO". Would they come on board if you approached them about sharing some thoughts, beliefs and expressions with us? In other news, Shawn is at work today. Doing a patio cover. It's good for him to get out of the house, but I thought that working outside was something we had moved on from. (I think it's a bid to recapture his "youthful vigor" )

I'm just happy we will get almost the full original loan amount out of the insurance, should it come to that. Some pictures of the Scion. www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30163269&id=1246503127www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30163267&id=1246503127www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30163268&id=1246503127I'm freaking tired of talking to insurance people. I think I was on the phone non-stop from 2pm to 6pm yesterday and from 8am to 2pm today. I've actually gone 3 hours with out a phone call. Its amazing. Thank the gods I had today off to deal with it. I also helped move a dead fridge out of my Aunt E's place. There is one more to go. We'll do the other one in a couple weeks. You know, so the guys at the landfill don't figure out that I'm abusing my free-dumping rights they give my town. Take care everyone.
