Morning gang!!! Well the cat-in-law is here, and currently confined to one room to get him used to being in this house. He's still nervous and a bit on the terrified side.. the poor thing. My current cat has no clue we have another cat in the house. Sounds like everyone is busy!! E- congratulations doll!!! *hugs* Bear - Good luck on the car buying! comfort was a big thing when we bought our Maxx. My husband is 6'1" and about 230, so we used the same measure for the backseat you mentioned. Den - Sounds like quite the "adventure"? hhehe Hang in there hon. Well coffee is done and I need to go make over on my cat

This has gone quite far enough. I go out to my "default" Saturday night outing last night (folk music at a local coffee shop - so shoot me). Only "problem", and it's only lately, with this outing is that the coffee shop is right across the street from that office. Yes, them. I have noticed lights in there when I was waiting for the bus back (at like 9:30 or 10 on Saturday night!) before, and of course in the past that never made me nervous, but it does now. There were lights on in there last night. When I left my apartment at about 6:30 there was no notice on my door. Upon my return, at around 9:45, there was - RD wants to show the place around 12:30-1 pm tomorrow, while I'm gone. No problem really except for the need to hide the laptop. The problem is, that dude was here sometime between 6:30 and 10 o'clock on a Saturday night. In the past, they've come by and left notices when I was home, and I didn't hear them. Now they're coming by at night. I could feel sorry for the poor Realtors, who have to work such odd hours...but...methinks the lady in Lemony Snickett had the right idea. Avoid them like the plague. (And I don't believe I've ever posted about the drunken Realtor who recently followed me home). Maybe I can ask some of the Realtors at my Lodge (we have an @$$-load of them) for protection? Does it work that way?

good day, friends and neighbors.
Had most excellent church today -- rocking Caribbean percussion music. totally fabulous, especially in combination with Protestant-style architecture and a reading by Starhawk. totally fun.
Meanwhile, lots of art history and computer studying today. And chatting - anyone around? Den and I have been chatting, and it would be lovely to see some others, as well.

We did feck all this weekend except veg and read and nap... oh, well, we did go to the store and get a few things and change out the litter... but, other than that, and for the most part, we did feck all... which was quite nice, actually. Well, on Sunday it was nice... Saturday was a day of grey ennui, which rather sucked...
Not much else to report... except that I am still anticipating Bealtaine...

Well, due to weather we did not go out sampling today, so in light of all the hours we spent last week (and are likely to spend later this week and/or next week) I took a half day. Only glitch was I had to avoid RD's visit at midday today, but Qira came to my rescue and we did lunch. ;D So I get home and...can anyone who still believes in "energies" please explain this one to me?...I get in the apartment and Gawdz does it feel awful. Like defiled somehow. I had to smudge it, which I haven't done in a long time, before I even felt comfortable changing out of my work clothes in it. I mean it. I couldn't even take my shoes off. (If Realtors "Christened" the Persian rug my grandfather brought back from WWII, there'll be hell to pay ). I haven't had that much of a "feeling" about a place in a long time, especially since the advent of my reason's latest counterattack. It kind of curdled my blood a bit, like when he calls. Oh, and I checked the closets. It wasn't that he was still here or anything sick like that. Of course, what I'll probably end up deciding is that it's my own subjective reaction to the knowledge that Realtors were there. But this didn't happen when they came last week. So it likely isn't all me. Whatever. Mostly, I'm just waiting for this rain to break (might take several days) so we can get started on that sampling and get it over with. Me and the rest of my team.

good morning, all.
Can I just say that I HATE depression?! Still tangling with this most recent one - so conveniently triggered by exams. Argh. Anyway, the weather isn't helping, my exams aren't helping, and generally, I might be in a piss-poor mood, even if I thought I deserved to live. Sigh. It's been a hard morning.
Still, had an encouraging meeting with my psychiatrist yesterday, and then nice lunch with Den, and then saw some other friends who are just back from Australia. Then went to my Art History final which went fine, I think. I also got my semester project back from the teacher-she wants a copy to keep so that she can have it. Says it's one of the best papers she's ever received. Go, me! It was a bright spot.
OVer the next two days, I need to try to recover some semblance of order in the house, and get caught up on computer homework. sigh. Two of my least favorite things to do. well, we'll see how it goes. We'll see how it goes. And then Thursday, I'm off to visit family and friends at Penn State and am looking forward to that. I'll still take my computer notecards with me, but my actual *homework* will be finished by then, for better or for worse.
A fun thing is that I've decided to make an ambitious plan for the summer. Four classes - go, me! And then straight into fall semester with no break. And then a big break between fall and spring, and then I'm done. Pertinent, perhaps, to this board, I'm taking Religions of the East in the summer, and Religions of the West in the fall. Should be fun!
anyway, hope to see folks around --

Well they canceled the spraying for today, due to the chance of rain, which means that instead of starting on the fieldwork I am working from home on my regular project. Good because: I need a break from the physically taxing fieldwork project. Bad because: the fieldwork project goes on for two months after the spray date, with one intense week to start off. All of us want to get started as quickly as possible and get it over with, especially that first week, which means every day of delay is a bit of a frustration. Qira, very sorry to hear you're depressed! And I'm sure the weather is a factor. It's dark and dreary and while I usually lke that kind of weather, I'm finding this one is getting me a bit down too (probably because of the aforementioned frustration with the project). We've also had a chilly, dank, somewhat disappointing spring. Might I suggest a walk around the neighborhood at midafternoon to take in the brightly colored flowers? Those at least are still there and fairly cheery. And I'll say another thing about depression and exams: I have been a student, and dealt with students, recently enough to know how natural that reaction is. Don't kick yourself or assume that the reaction is a sign of "abnormality". Take care of yourself, work some/breaktime some, until it's over, especially that awful computer class. Wishing you luck! ;D By all means post about it any time it might help; and in my case, feel free to PM/call. If I'm not out in the field or otherwise unable to respond, you'll get a response right away, and if I am, as soon as possible when I'm free. No Realtors yet today, but since RD has an obvious case of bipolar and is in an "up" phase (in this weather? What's wrong with him???) I'm keeping an eye on the horizon.

Morning! Just a quick hello. Things are moving along both at work and at home. The cats spent the evening together with supervision, and only one spat, so it went better than expected. We'll see how it all pans out. My M-i-L has a care plan meeting tomorrow morning and my husband is going to attend. It essentially let's her and the family know how her care is going and her rehab and what is next on the agenda. I doubt we'll have an idea as to how long she'll stay as of tomorrow, but who knows.
Tomorrow is also my mother's next round of chemo... 6 hours of it... I need to think of something wonderful to do for her for Mother's Day.
Hope everyone has a good day!

Another stupid Realtor's notice appeared overnight...creepy, because if you remember I get up at 4 and leave the house at ten past 5...I took trash out last night at 9:30 and it wasn't there yet...what, do they hire gremlins? Wait, don't answer that! Come to think of it I know what Realtors really are... The current projection is that we will finally start on the non-background part of the sampling tomorrow. After that we have a seven day week, followed by Gawdz know what. I'll just have to look forward to the overtime pay and/or banked hours I can get out of it, even if I wasn't really in the mood to do that this Spring. I should really think more positively...heck, I'm an environmental chemist! The world is either going to be hiring people like me, or no one at all; there are far worse fields to be in at this point. Far, far worse. Hope your cats get along and your family hangs in there, MsA; hope you're feeling a little less down today, Qira. Remember, this too shall pass...as shall you!

Hi all,
I’m sorry I haven’t been around much. I’ve been busy out of the office.
I wanted to stop by and thank you all for stopping by my blog. I’m averaging about 8 hits a day. Its not a lot but I’ve only been tracking it for 11 days.

Arrrgh! The spraying/sampling canceled again! Will it ever stop raining? I'm starting to get concerned that the whole project will have to be abandoned, if they have to keep canceling the spray until it's too late in the season and we won't get to sample. In some ways that wouldn't be entirely a bad thing, but, it would be bad for the company's budget and might even make us look bad to the client, even if it's no fault of our own. Not very many ways the client could look any worse to us. No new Realtor's notices this time (yet!). Though I'm keeping knives and clubs handy just in case. And that pretty much sums up my life. You may get more blog hits today bear! ;D Working from home allows me some extra time for things like that.

So this morning I go into the office, fart around doing some office things, make and drink some coffee, check email and like that; I'd thought we were going to meet at seven and go out in the field. Seven rolls around and no one's there. So I call the team leader's cell. A sleepy voice answers (so sorry! ) and when I ask if we're sampling today, she says she doesn't know yet. They didn't tell her yet???When she gets in it turns out that there will be sampling tomorrow, not today, so I grab some work and head home. I'm still going to have plenty of hours this week! Tomorrow it looks like I go in in the afternoon to help with the data entry and preparing the samples for shipment. I'm not supposed to plan to go out sampling on Sunday either, but...what if things go so badly tomorrow they figure they need another body for the next run? So I'm leaving the possibility open. The plan for Monday is sampling. Supposedly we have an army of temps - with my luck, refugees from the sinking real estate industry - to help us. Such is fieldwork. At least my other project is going well. Sigh.

I think that's you. Sorry.
Man its been a hectic two days for me. I must be getting old. I hate moving furniture. (We move the furniture I inherited from Aunt E into my house, including the white sofas.)
I feel like someone replaced the bones in my back, right arm, and legs with steel wires. My hands hurt every time I close them.
Afterwards, we went to go see a friend's band perform. I posted a link to them on my blog..
I thought I'd be able to write more, but Little Bear just woke up from her nap.
Maybe I can post more Monday.
Happy Mother's Day.
