Original post by Qira:
So I went to a Lavender festival in southern-central PA a couple of weekends ago, as I mentioned in the Good Morning thread. Just thought I should mention here the varieties of lavender I've planted.
provence (a lavandin) Hidcote (a "true" lavender -- l. augustifolia) Croft's Wild " Backhouse Nana
They are all doing well. The Provence that I planted earlier in the year, just to get them started, are being a little crowded by the coleus I planted near them, but the coleus will die back with the cooler weather, and I can then transplant the lavender to someplace more conducive to making it through the winter. Should be nice.
I'm trying to decide whether I want to just expand my pollinator/butterfly perennial gardens, or do a kind of "moon garden" of night-blooming and silver plants, or both!
If you were to do a moon garden, what would you include?
love ~Q~

Simply Kali:
If I could plant a moon garden, I would plant:
Moonflower (or moon vine) Evening Campion scarlet gaura (although, it spreads easily and is toxic if animals eat it I believe) citron daylily evening iris evening star
These are all really beautiful night flowering plants that would look lovely in a moon garden.
Hydra:
I want one but you or qira would have to plant it for me. I have a black thumb. I did manage to care for a night blooming cactus and a small jade plant I purchased this year, so progress is happening.
