Money in England is funny... Yeah, the quoted memo was clearly written in the U.S., where all the money looks rather alike. It is possible of course that it was written somewhere where all money is generally orange, or some such, but the U.S., with its incompetent retailers and generally bad education in addition to the aforementioned uniform appearance of currency, seems most likely. The post itself implies elsewhere that the funny-money in question was Monopoly money, though I don't remember the colors of Monopoly money offhand, it's been so long since I last played that. My favorite currency has long been the Dutch paper money from before the Euro. Funky, modern, multicolored, with neat historical references to things other than dead governmental leaders and the few Spooky Masonic Symbols(TM) that ours features; I used to be a bit jealous of their money.

Alas, I never saw Dutch money.
American money really is rather boring, tho...

Canadian money is multicolored.. A different color for each denomination... It's kind of cool actually.

Useta be, up in Northern Minnesota it could be a little difficult to know for sure which side of the border you were on - both sets of money were commonly accepted at full face value, sometimes even the bills, and occasionally offices would fly both flags. If you got to a customs station on a major road, ten to one you'd see someone with out of state plates pulled over just before it, frantically consulting a map. Haven't been up there since 9/11 though; since the laws about the border have changed, I'll bet that stuff isn't the same any more either.

Rant: My online banking thing used to list what stores/locations that a pending transaction came from. Now it just says "debit authorization" with no additional information. The info will be made available once the transaction is complete - but since I rely on the website to keep track of stuff, it's really annoying that they took away the information from the place that I used the most often.
I sent them an email with my complaint, but I highly doubt it'll change anything.
I really don't understand in this day and age why they would "improve" their site by taking away perfectly fine functionality. Idiots...
I've been thinking about changing banks lately... and this really might be the thing which tips the scale.
Anyone use Wachovia?

Sorry BR.. I use a local credit union, a couple of them, and a local savings bank.

I won't use Wachovia because I've had trouble with them before. Once, at a different job, my paycheck bounced, not because my employer was insolvent but because of the mistake at the bank, and the bank in question was Wachovia. It was a real pain in the butt, since we had direct deposit and no one knew about it for several days. I had to sort out a whole lot of crap with my own bank. And at the time Wachovia was advertising a whole lot of bull twaddle about how good they were for businesses!
So true. If it was working well and conveniently before, that was likely the problem. Idiots indeed. Good luck with it - maybe a whole bunch of other people emailed also and it'll change back. In this economy, if they have any reason to think a lot of people will take their money elsewhere, maybe they will fix it. One can but hope.

WHY?!!! Who does a thing like that?
I'd keep a sharp eye on that kid. Forever. Likely a serial killer in the making.

Can someone explain to me what Denver was wearing today? Who made the decision that the retro uni they would wear was the hiddeous 1961-2 piss yellow and poop brown with vertical stripped socks?
Shoot the original designer. Shoot the guy who thought, "let's bring these gems back.". If you are going retro with Denver, go with the orange and blue with the big D helmet.
