If you're referring to the fact that we have seen no sign of any new accounts on the board, I'm inclined to agree...if they haven't been reading here, then I really have no clue how they knew what was going on, since I don't talk about it there. Some time in the next couple of weeks I might bring up the board IRL. On the other hand, it could be that Lodge people are not all that interested in posting on a Pagan site. I've had that come up when I've raised the issue in the past. And in point of fact, I'd like to extend an invite to anyone from the Lodge, not just the Realtors , though the particular people in question are people I've known for a while. Just how many dead fridges are we talking about?... Be careful, if they fall on you they'll crush you flat. On a more serious note, glad everyone's all right from that accident. I can't see the photos, as the links lead to the Facebook login page and I'm not on Facebook (...yet another case of Den has to be dragged kicking and screaming into the twenty-first century, I know, I know!). Keep an eye on Mrs. Bear's aches and soreness. If something comes up that you need to get medical attention for (or sue over) the sooner the better. You're in my thoughts though in hopes none of that happens!

Two dead fridges. Okay 1.5 dead fridges. Remember,Aunt E, the horder... literally 10-year old beer in the 1/2 dead fridge. The fridge that was completely dead I remember sitting on her condo patio for more than a decade. I always assumed it was a freezer she kept outside.
I've hit the landfill at least 7 times in 5 weeks. I know they keep track of who dumps by their drivers license. I know other people in town have gotten in trouble to dumping too much. I just need to make sure I'm infrequent enough that I don't stand out.
Speaking of which, crude joke time: I was on one construction site. The port-a-potty had spray painted on it, "No dumping without permit."
Little J woke up this morning sick. She came into our room and said, "Daddy, I burped. Daddy, I sick." I woke up and said, "Did you puke?" She said, "Yeah." So that was fun running around getting everything washed and her clean.
Poor girl. I know she hasn't felt good for the past couple days. And i drug her around with me everywhere yesterday and this morning. I've finally got her home and snapping.
She's getting to be such a big girl. She'll be 3 1/2 in July. Its been just about 4 years since we agreed to adopt her.
Tomorrow, hopefully, is the last benificiary meeting for Aunt E's estate. I think the condo won't be listed until around June 15. There is still some cleanup and painting work that needs to be done.
Well, it sounds like there is some thunder moving in. I probably ought to shut down and unplug just in case. The storms tend to move really low over town. But I'm going to open the windows so I can get some of that fresh stormy air in.

E, my husband and I volunteer, well more him than me, at a Telephone museum (www.thetelephonemuseum.org) so that's where he was this weekend. He got home about 9:00 last night and didn't want to get up this morning. He apparently tweaked his back on Saturday. *sigh* I hope everyone has a nice first day of June the ebil werk calls.

Morning all,
Going through Aunt E’s estate yesterday was an emotional chore. It started off with me getting there and my Aunt J was all excited because she found another box of wine for us to divide up. I get Little J taken care of and watching a movie. Everyone is talking too loud. I’m already stressed to the max because of the car accident Thursday.
I look at the box and I turn to my Aunt and say, “You know that’s my handwriting on the box? That’s my last name, Mrs. Bear’s last name, and our wedding date. If that’s really Ste. Chapelle Merlot in the box its my wedding wine and we are not dividing it.”
Sure enough, six bottles of Ste. Chapelle Merlot. We will have to open one in 20 days and celebrate our lucky 7th Anniversary.
And Aunt J was so heart broken that she couldn’t select a bottle of 10-year old wine “for her 10 and 6-year old grandchildren.”
Also I and my Cousin K suggested independently that when it comes time to divide the pictures, if one of the heirs is in it then they get first dibs. My Aunt J said, “What if someone wants the frame?” My Cousin K (who I worry a lot about sometimes) said, “If you want the frame you can have the damn frame. It’s the picture that is important.”
Go Cousin K!
In other news, I listed the bed frame and table on Craigslist this morning. Literally, in 10-minutes I sold the bed frame and the buyer may want the table too.
Now I just need the Scion fixed or replaced so we need both garages again.
Also Little J starts her new daycare on June 16. She’ll be in my building. I can go see her anytime I want. It cuts an hour and 40 miles out of my roundtrip commute. I’ll be able to get home by 6:30 every night. I can get back to running on the elliptical in the morning.
I just hope she likes it.

Hey all. Still no computer- in fact, we put our internet account on" vacation". ( I'm using Ben's phone.) With his injuries, unforseen expenses, and multipule repairs, 2009 is really turning out to be a crappy year.
But... Three years ago When we moved to the states and were without internet and distractions, it turned out to be a good sojourn into my beliefs and who I had become. Or that's what I'm telling myself.
Quitting smoking soon. Wish me luck.

Luck!
My Big News of the Day is over in Pagan Parenting. Not even a visit from RD (and there was one) can get me down today!
Going through the estates of loved ones is indeed a horrible emotional chore. (Go ahead and take it out on your Realtor; I actually hear they're used to that...from Reliable Sources). I'm reminded of when Dad sold the house I grew up in. We were expected to come take what we wanted. I took an @$$ load of stuff, then ended up ditching most of it. My most prized mementos: My mom's encyclopedias, the rug my mother's father brought back from WWII, my father's mother's wind-up clock, and her silver. My sister has her own favorite stuff; for instance, she took the piano. Other than that it's mostly gone except a few favorite books, which would easily be replaced if necessary. I wouldn't sweat the stuff. Stick to the memories.

1/2 day today, because Darkk's dad and stepmom are delivering and, hopefully, hooking up a central air unit for us today. He might be hooking up our dishwasher, too! *hope, hope* (Then, maybe, I'll start feeling human again ) It's hard to think that I have to come in for a full day tomorrow after a 1/2 today, tho. My brain is half convinced that 1/2 day = weekend time! Ugh...

Working from home today. Will knock off about noon and will do some shopping. My bf's birthday is Saturday and I want to go to the thrift store and get him some cool t-shirts. I already bought him a toe ring which is something he really wants...it is nice, sterling silver with a pentagram on it.

Water was seeping into the bathroom below mine, and the downstairs neighbors are apparently blaming either me or the landlord...it's not 100% clear who...but the landlord came and re-grouted my tub and floor, which he hadn't had a chance to do between tenants last time, so hopefully that'll help. Steering clear of everybody for a bit, just in case.
I'm just hoping that the trouble doesn't make the landlord even more desirous of unloading the house. Last thing someone with my issue needs is to live in an REO property! Aaaack!
Work is going reasonably well except that (a) there's been more flooding at that one project site and (b) we're falling a bit behind, as an organization, on some of our other deadlines. I brought extra work home with me this week.

Having a relaxing morning....I don't have to be to work until noon. I had a great weekend. It was my bf's birthday and we celebrated all weekend. Had lunch out with his mom and aunt, went out with friends Saturday to see a band and play pool and we went to a movie yesterday.

Good Morning. Technically morning. 2am morning.
I just got back from spending 4 days in Yellowstone. It was a much needed vacation. Maybe the last vacation I get to take with my mother. I don't think I posted it on here before I left, but she's being put on the lung transplant list. Her health has been going steadily downhill for about a year now. Really bad for the last 6 months.
I actually kind of wish her doctors had pushed to get her on the list earlier.
Yellowstone was good though. Got to spend a lot to time with mom. Mom got to see all her grandchildren play and interact for four days. It snowed like mad for two days. I've never seen Yellowstone in the snow, so that was neat. Saw 6 bears . One was up close. He was foraging for plant bulbs, something that looked like wild onions. Two others were a mother and cub traveling together in the twilight. The rest were seen at quite a distance.
Saw lots of baby bison. Didn't see to many baby elk. Saw no wolfs. Saw a coyote and raven eating a kill together. I don't think the coyote killed it, whatever it was. But when the coyote moved out, the raven swooped in. Saw a couple antelope. Saw a couple deer. Saw one bighorn sheep ram.
Little Bear came down with a cold on the drive up there. I came down with it 2 days later. Mrs. Bear, the day after that. I got hit with it the worst yesterday (Thursday). Severe body aches and headache with muscle weakness and sinus drainage. Thankfully it only knocked me down for a day. And thankfully my mother doesn't appear to have caught it from us.
I spent most of today outlining a presentation I have to give in October. I guess that's what I get for saying in staff meeting, "Wouldn't it be a good idea if someone made a presentation to this group?" Oh well, at least it goes down on my performance evaluation as a "special project" and its a good comp. time accrual excuse.
It will be the first presentation I have had to give in 5 years. I'm kind of nervous about it.

Very sorry to hear about your mother's ill health, bear. I don't know much of anything about lung transplants, other than it sounds serious. ((bear)) Glad you could have a good vacation though, that sounds like a great family time, under most circumstances anyway. I'm sure it helped your mother keep some good cheer.
Hope everyone here has things going well; I really have no. effing. news. Not even a Realtor attack to complain about, today ('sides that would be in Rants and Raves). I'm thinking, these guys were given one last month (according to landlord) and as the month passes the mid-point with no offers and only two showings, and a "seller" who won't bring the price down, they are quietly turning their attention to likelier listings rather than waste more effort on this one. In this market they probably have people trying to cram new listings up their organs of elimination every d*mn day, even around here. And rather few potential buyers. If it were me, I'd push my "best" ones and to the extent ethics allowed, let the others slide, on account of not being likely to make one red cent. But, there I go with the logic again. Sheesh.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Morning all,
Thanks D.
After being down for a bit because of my mom's health, bad schedule, unpiratable wifi, and vacation, my blog is back up and running. I'm changing my posting time from late evening to early morning.
Little Bear started her new daycare... or as I told her, "preschool" today. It will be preschool in half a year anyway. Its in my building. It will be so much easier than taking her to the nanny. I love the nanny and all, but its been 30 minutes and 20 miles out of my way, each way on my commute.
I expected to have to hang out for at least an hour to make sure she started fitting in with the new kids. Nope. 2 minutes and she was off playing with a new friend.
Oh, to be a kid again.
Unfortunately this also has the effect of making me officially a westsider in SLC. I now have no reason to cross State Street except to visit my wife at her shop. My world has gotten smaller and all the places I used to frequent when in college or living Downtown are no longer part of it.
*sniff*
In other good news, the Scion is fixed today. I was kind of bummed last Friday because I called and they told me it wouldn't be until this Friday. But its ready now, aparently. Now the two of us have to wrangle the three cars to get the rental dropped off and the Scion picked up.
Hopefully, life will be getting back to normal. Or as close to normal as it gets.

Awe, Bear. I'm glad that Little is finally in "your" daycare. It will be good for her. How does the Scion look? Does it feel different? Den, Did you get a chance to window shop Witchvox? Guys, How does everyone feel about a little advertising to see what we can do for membership? And has anyone seen Q? I'm a little worried.. I haven't seen her here since she posted about feeling a bit down. And in good news, we heard that loan doc's are done and we should be wrapping up here!

E, I'm in favor of advertizing. Let me know if you need some monetary assistance in doing it. The Scion, as it turned out, was not ready yesterday. I went over to look at it and there was a big scuff in each of the four doors, presumably from being dinged by other car doors in the repair shop's yard. (Cause they weren't there before the accident and they didn't happen in the accident.) Plus there was a wiring harness that had been repaired with electrical tape and the tape was hanging all over the place. I told them they needed to work on it another day. I picked it up at lunch today. Scuffs gone. Wiring harness fixed (no electrical tape). Had my dad, the training to be autobody tech look it over. He didn't see any waviness in the paint. The new panels matched up to the existing panels. I drove it through town and on the highway for about 10 miles. No rattles or vibrations. So it looks like its back in good condition. Now it just needs to pass the Mrs. Bear test. She's had a rough couple days. Her sister is kind of rushing into a marriage on Saturday. Two weeks to plan it. They've only known each other for about a year. Her sister is 21. They guy, I don't know his age. The reason for the rush, though, is he's a marine and he's shipping out for training in July. Then sometime in August/September he's being deployed to Afghanistan for a year. So we have mixed feelings about the wedding. Its understandable why. But 21 sure seems young when we were both 29 when we got married. And planning a wedding in 2 weeks? We had 10 months and we felt rushed. Crazy.
