I put in a formal request with management around here. I asked Shawn to barbeque ribs. I am telling you, Shawn learned from Pop how to mesquite smoke the ribs then crisp on the sauce. IT'S SEX ON A PLATE.

Last night was pork roast. Excellent! We tried to get rid of the frozen green beans that have lived in the freezer for who knows how long. Bad idea. I don't know why people think frozen greens are as palatable as fresh, but I'd take canned over those puppies. White rice.
Do you know the average american eats less than 1 1/2 pounds of rice a year? However, american's do eat an average 15 lbs a year of rice products (cereal, flour, bran, rice cakes, sake, vinegar, ready made rice like Zateran's and Minute, oh and BEER).

We ordered Chinese delivery. We had chicken wing appetizers, seafood and vegetable fried rice and hot and sour soup. MMMM.

I love to cook so must revive this old thread . Tonight I am making roasted chicken, steamed broccoli and my take on a barley pilaf with sage, caramelized onions, garlic, celery and some crab apples among other things.

I have some rice-bread left over from an event; the woman who made it is into all manner of alternative cooking and is quite skilled ("Here, you take this home, I'm the one who can make it so you need it more." Eminently rational!). The stuff is a lot like Lembas-bread; in fact pretty much exactly like Lembas-bread. As one can see in LotR it therefore desperately needs something to go along with it. As I am not as skilled as my friend, this something is likely to be canned soup.

Denethor's dinner story (with karma!): I believe I'll have some Tabasco sauce on my scrambled eggs, says he. I think I'll use this old, grayish Tabasco sauce, says he. I believe I'll miscalculate how old it - isn't - and have some very hot eggs, says he. Oh, and then I'll wash it down with some..."garlic lovers" hummus...and then, I believe I'll wonder why my belly feels like I had marbles for dinner...and why...oh well at least I have no major social engagements tonight.
