This is a bit late but, did anyone Spring Clean this year? What is your housekeeping ritual?
I dusted ceiling fans and baseboards, opened the windows, went through kids clothes, wiped fingerprint smudges from pretty much everywhere...
I personally really like spring cleaning. Not that it lasts long.

Does packing up my entire household count?

I'm not sure I really did any Spring Cleaning this year, still being in fixing up and unpacking mode. That said, last weekend we finished painting the moldings... and Saturday we finished putting the moldings back (at least the ones that were there before. There's still one wall that didn't have moldings for which we have to buy them and cut them... but I'm waiting for bro-in-law to help us out with that... )
Also yesterday we finally unpacked the books, and got the vast majority of them on the shelves... and we primed the kitchen cabinets. It was too hot to do much outside, tho, so we started later in the evening and it got dark before we could do any more than that... (and sorting books takes a really long time... )

I've been having to keep the place unnaturally clean for... them...here's hoping I won't have to over the summer...

:-[I think I need to redo it. Maybe spring cleaning was meant to be done after spring planting and gardening.

I need to clean my desk, desperately. But I won't really do it until after my finals, I know. Meanwhile, my study stuff has crept out intot he rest of the living room. It's GROWING!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH! Save me!

Try the chemistry students' trick: lighter fluid and a match. Oh wait, you wanted to pass your courses. Me forgets.

yeah, that is tempting. meanwhile, the kitchen looks like some mad scientist was in there working. I need to go in and wash everything up and scrub it all down. it's ant season, and I'd like to avoid an infestation.

I swear I haven't been there! Like I have any time, anyway. My kitchen as a result looks much the same. Oh well...give rd something to write home about.

I’m kicking everyone else’s junk out of my garage over Memorial Day Weekend so I can park my car in it.
Otherwise, I just desperately need to clean the house. Cat fur took over while we were in North Carolina. I think their winter fur came off.
I’m also hoping I can get the fence finished tomorrow.
D, that reminds me of my brother’s friend who wrote his name on his desk with the oil from a bunsen burner and set it on fire. It didn’t take the teacher long to figure out who did the vandalism.

that's a hilarious story, Bear.
Meanwhile, I'm vacuuming and tidying the kitchen today, in preparation for Julie's and my celebration tonight. Not only is it Beltaine, but it's our six year getting-together anniversary. We celebrate it, as well as our wedding anniversary in July. totally fun. I'm making a special dinner and who knows what will follow? ;-)
I can tell when I'm getting depressed, in part because housework starts to feel like a violation of my human rights. Totally annoying.

But housework is a violation of human rights...says one who has to clean up tonight/tomorrow, to avoid living in the sty created by long work hours. How is it that the place gets messier when I'm not here?...

I finally got all the vacuuming done and I've washed the sofa slipcovers. And finally I don't feel like I'm drowning in cat fur.

not drowning in fur is such a nice feeling. I suspect I'll feel it again soon. The combination of depression, end of semester, and the dreary weather has in no way contributed positively to my housekeeping. Sigh. Today, my goals are to go grocery shopping, vacuum the downstairs, and do a drainerfull of dishes. I know, modest goals - but I have to study for computers and do homework at the same time!
