Dunno 'bout you, but if I had a dream like that, I'd assume it was something to do with the economy. Especially with the themes of (a) danger, (b) loss, (c) an attempt at escape, and (d) a shared or collective situation in all of the dreams. But that's just me.

My usual anxiety dreams, especially when I’m not feeling well, involve being shackled, caged, smothered, bound, etc. And I’ll either have the same dream 3 or 4 times or I’ll have variations of it 3 or 4 times.
I still think these were anxiety dreams. I think I’m losing a little bit of my “being tied up” phobia that’s associated with my claustrophobia. I’ve even considered being tied and suspended as a catharsis. So I think my mind replaced a fear I’m quasi-getting-over with another fear.
And now that I think about it, I used to have some fire anxiety dreams. The apartment Mrs. Bear and I had before we got married was a death trap. Unreinforced masonry with spalling mortar and the rear stairs were exposed to the elements and made of plywood. In an earthquake or fire, everyone in the building will likely be killed. I had a lot of “the building is on fire” dreams in the year we lived there.
